My Portfolio

OK, so I'm a journalist, and I've written things. So what? What's the measurable impact here? What's the ROI? What reason do you have to read my work or care about the stories I'm producing?

Maybe you're interested in culture and arts like me. Check out my work with the Kennedy Museum of Art or The Post. My fondness for history and diverse cultural experiences transformed my voice and style in these ways.

Maybe you prefer a harder news edge, or a business tilt. I've done work with the trade association, National Fisheries Institute. I've also recently worked with Greater Cleveland Partnership, connecting with the talent and business community of Cleveland.

Outcomes and Measureability

My jobs I’ve had, such as being the Museum Education Communications Assistant with the Kennedy Museum of Art helped me reach out to my community through social media, and connect with them in person too, through art events that I hosted like an indigo dyeing workshop. I had to think about how to help teach art to different age groups and also how to best reach out to families in Athens, Ohio in order to be able to do so. Overall, though, my positions and classes at Ohio University showed me how to communicate across different groups of people. It taught me what hits and what misses. Check out three examples below of various vibes.

https://kennedymuseum.blog/category/connections/: One of my long-form blog posts. About what really makes a river a river.

https://www.thepostathens.com/staff/maia-leclair: My stuff with The Post. I recently wrote an opinion column all about coal mining and Appalachia.

https://sirfonline.org/news/christina-dewitt-and-angee-hunt-discuss-the-potential-for-early-detection-of-chalky-halibut-with-bioimpedance/: A science article with the National Fisheries Institute. And you didn't think I could do STEM stuff!
